Although there used to be an Ingenieur with a stopwatch function, what has never existed before is one with a fully fledged mechanical chronograph. Now, all that has changed with the arrival of the new Ingenieur Chronograph from IWC, with its automatic 79240 calibre chronograph movement, small seconds hand with stop function and a chronograph with a central seconds hand and 30-minute counter. It has everything you would expect of a precision timepiece. And because the 4 Hz movement is able to display times to an accuracy of one-eighth of a second, the dial has an outer tachymeter scale.
